What midge patterns are in your box?

Put a midge behind your nymphs, you'll be surprized how many fish you get, even up here in big fly country they work..

What do you recommend for distance between the flies? 6" to 12" sound right?

I tied a lot up this winter including some CDC emerger midges. I got a Shawn Stalcup DVD on midges for Christmas so I went to town. I do draw the line at size 22 since I can't see anything smaller even with reading glasses.

If I am using a midge larvae I will go anywhere from 7"-10". For an emerger I like to go a little longer like like 12"-15" so the fly has a little more freedom and mobility. This method has worked great for me and I actually caught a couple of twenty+inch fish over the weekend with a midge emergers.
