Well how did this do for you this year? I always wanted to make some of those up. I have had that pattern written down to tie for years.Tups indispensable wet fly tied on a size 14 hook. This is a really old English pattern created way back in the 1890’s with an interesting history. I’ve never tied or fished this pattern before but I’m hoping to add it to my wet fly rig this season when the sulphurs start popping and the trout are working the upper water column. I’m sure it’ll net a few fish.

Unfortunately, all of my planned sulphur fishing outings were totally blown out this Spring, so I didn’t have a chance to really test it out.Well how did this do for you this year? I always wanted to make some of those up. I have had that pattern written down to tie for years.
I like that orange front tip, John. Is that an orange bead? It looks almost too perfect to be lacquered thread.😃It’s getting to be Stimmie season! Here is one of my favorite Stimulator patterns tied on a size 10 Mustad C53S hook.
