Tying Light Recommendations

Looking at getting a new tying light. I have been looking at this one: https://www.ritebobbin.com/store/p/prolite-dual-headlight-lamp

Anyone have experience with this light?

I know a lot of people use Ott Light. Which model do you like the best?

My corner is a little dark and want something that is really nice and bright. Right now, I just have something from Amazon and it doesn't get bright enough for me.

Find the closest JoAnne's Fabrics, that hasn't closed down yet and get an Ott Light if they haven't sold them all. Many include a flip-away magnifier, and the lamp is bright enough to signal low-flying aircraft. They may even have replacement bulbs so pick up one or two of those.

I have the light you're looking at, except one of the lights is a magnifier, I like it, but the light spot lights your fly and does not light the tying area like an Ott light would.

My wife gave me her small Ott Light and I use it when wrapping guides on flyrods.
She crochets and replaced the light she gave me with a larger free-standing one that shines up the whole family room.

I use this. I've actually since removed it from it's base and mounted it on an adjustible arm like you might use for a microphone.

It's NOT the same thing and I have NO experience with that light, but I use a McKenzie Bright Lite, a discontinued halogen light that also attaches to the vice stem.

I LOVE NOT having a lamp base cluttering up the top of my tying desk which is very small. In addition, I tie on the road and it can be a challange in a motel room or cabin to find enough real estate for my vice base AND a lamp base.

For that reason alone, I'd consider that light a winner and right up my alley as a replacement if I ever decide to get rid of my McKenzie lights.

Wow!! loving this light. true daylight 6000 deg K color temp, four different brightness's up to 3000 lux, really sleek,
unobtrusive with two gooseneck sections for putting the light where you want it. lamp has a built in movable
shade. I was able to get rid of two other lamps which previously took up real estate on my desk. Very happy!

I’ve been very happy using the first item as a lighted magnifier, because it’s glass, rectangular, cheap, and takes up essentially no space because my peak vise fits perfectly on the base. I also put some strong flat magnets on the bottom of the vise base so it effectively clamps on. (I haven’t cleaned the glass in a while, but it’s actually clear).

But I also have another overhead desk lamp that looks like the second item (I don’t recall the actual brand. I read somewhere that it’s helpful to have light coming from both above and in front.
