That's up at the top of the Millheim narrows, isn't it? Near where the stream pops up for keeps?

I wonder how much of it actually made it into Elk proper (and eventually into Penns) and what the effects will be there. If there were high flows, it may not be too bad.

A similar event took place in 2001 on Black Earth Creek west of Madison. It's one of Wisconsin's 2 or 3 best recognized spring creeks and about the volume of Elk and Pine together above the Penns junction. It killed (varying by section) between 30-85% over a 6 mile or so stretch of a wild brown trout pop. that was estimated around 200-250 lb/acre. Black Earth is just now getting back where it was pre-spill.

Hope the consequences for Elk are not anything like this..
