Time limit

Why is there a time limit to edit or delete your own thread or posting without reporting to a moderator or administrator?

I'm not being smart, but we have a limit. Just the way it's set up.

BTW the time limit to edit/delete your own thread is six hours. After that you cannot make any changes.
