The Turle Knot

For a quick and strong knot, I will go to this "Pitzen" knot. I may be known as something else, but that's what this video calls it. Oh, and start at the 1:50 mark as that first 1:50 is a bunch of unnecessary video.

Same knot by a different name, and a different (I think easier) method.

Video by me, so you know it’s great 🤪

Other's results may vary, but I personally find that any knot (terminal or tippet) that represents a figure-eight is pretty easy to tie, holds well, and leaves minimal tags. This is especially true if a grabber is used that can be pulled through a loop tighter than one or two of my fat fingers. (I like the Knot Kneedle for these knots because I dropped money on four of them for my whole fishing gang, and it has the added benefit of a nail knot tool. The inventor also includes videos for a bunch of knots.)

I'm knot sure of the knot video that you posted, but it may or may knot be true that both of those knots are the same knot. On tied with your fingers, and the other Knot. (The other tied with forceps).

No play on words....or a poor attempt.....you can judge.

We discussed it last year

You don’t have to do that double pass thru the simple overhand knot. This works just as good with a single pass overhand knot. I’ve been using it for years and have never had a knot failure. I was shown this knot by a Bighorn guide years ago. The beauty of this knot IMO is that it’s almost invisible at the eye of the hook unlike the improved clinch. Especially nice if you’re fishing small flies. If you can tie an overhand knot u can tie this, it’s that simple.

I agree that knot looks like more trouble than its worth, but there are many things we do in this sport that could be simplified down to an ultralight spinning rod with powerbait on the hook. Don't give someone a hard time just because they want to try something different.
It's not even that hard. It's just a slip knot with the tag end tucked in an extra time. And it has the advantage that you can tie the knot without having to hold onto the fly while you're tying it.

and works especially nice when tying on parachute type patterns as the knot is out of the way of the hackle barbs.
