Does anyone know if they will be as far north as Pine/Little Pine? I know some people heading up there for a week and want them to be prepared if there is a chance of cicadas.

I have an app tracking real-time reports. There is an observation from the town of Sinemahoning. So not too far from Pine. Better to be prepared either way.

I headed out M-W god willing. I’m gonna burst if I don’t go fishing soon. Be reasonable rain.

They are in the C&R section on Penns. You’ll hear them as soon as you get out of the car. They weren’t that active yesterday with the rain and cloudy conditions. Sun came out for awhile and they started flying more. The fallfish are destroying them. I caught 3-4 of the biggest ones I’ve ever seen each time thinking I had a nice trout on. The only trout that ate my cicada was about 18” so I’m satisfied with my experience if I don’t get out again before they’re gone. I really think the trout haven’t keyed in on them quite yet on Penns but I think that is coming.

I caught fish on cicadas on July 6 2008. Of course water temperature will become a concern eventually, but you should have a shot still.

Theres plenty of warmwater opportunities as well. I know a guy who caught some very nice largemouth at bald eagle state park on a kayak. Anyone seeing cicadas on the Juniata?

I just mowed my lawn in Mifflin Co. They've exploded since Monday. I could hear them through my hearing protection while mowing... and my wife says I'm deaf.

They seem to like poison ivy!
