I actually try to imagine how the other side of this issue looks, but then I see a #2 of my rant, and I know that fish will die b/c of the k/t.

wow this topic never dies. the constant bickering and personal attacks have really turned me off internet fly fishing forums in general. I came to this forum from another forum, because it seemed more mellow, only to find the same bs. I no longer post fishing reports just to avoid controversy and judgement from people who think posting a stream report makes you a braggart and a villain. I always thought the purpose of these forums was to share experiences(stream reports) with fellow fly fisherman and exchange useful information. I know i personally enjoy hearing other's stories and checking out pictures, however all the argueing has sullied that experience for me. there's hardly anything useful or enjoyable about all of this for me anymore and as a result i probably won't post or check out the forum much more.
Jay, it's waaay past the debate stage. In fact, it's so far past that stage that folks are asking for it to stop. Does that suggest anything to you? There's roughly 5 similar threads on this subject. What future is there in "debating" something that you're not going to change?jayL wrote:
I find these debates to be a significant part of FF culture, therefore significant.
Jay, this simply tells me you're easily amused, and know nothing about me. I'll say it again (please listen/hear), these stream reports are NOT going away. You "enjoy" going back and forth on this subject knowing nothing is going to change? I'll try to pull the brake on crap that takes up waaay too much precious time/space on this forum. Crap that most folks are sick of seeing/hearing.jayL wrote:
It's enjoyable. You never fail to try to pull the brake switch on any thread where people have lengthy disagreements, so I know you're a closet junkie. You're reading them all! You wouldn't miss a post. You get it! :-D
