Access to Spring Creek is now available, so this won't change. However, if they sell off the farm land and replace it with an industrial park and blacktop........
who knows what will happen

I realize that 650 people are employed at SCI Rockview, but it's hard to believe there is much logic in keeping a 110 year old prison open. I'd have to suspect that place is as energy inefficient as they come and just a nightmare to maintain.

Thanks for sharing that one. Let's hope the direction after closing is one for better public interest. This general area is seeing a lot of pressure. More natural protection and less asphalt would be much better.

Would be great if Game Commission could get the property, but many local politicians complain of too much state landownership as it is...

That’s the big problem. The cost to renovate and bring the facility up to modern standards. It’s hard to believe fewer prisoners is the problem, unless it’s related to city DAs not prosecuting or downgrading crimes. Not 100% sure but huntingdon is as old or older. That place looks mid evil
