I live in the area of the Perkiomen Creek near the New Goshenhoppen Church Fly Fishing area and was wondering if anyone has fished up stream from the actual designated fly fish area. I'm starting out in fly fishing and its been some time since I've fished that area and was wondering if anyone was catching natives in this area or beyond this area on the Perky.

I fished the stream last summer and caught two wild browns upstream of the dam. I was fishing near Peevy Road. They were not very big but they were wild nonetheless. It is a nice area but there is a large parking area and it is easy access. The water was much warmer in the fly fishing area on that outing and I could only find one trout. Unfortunately, I did a long distance release with a caddis dry and that was it for the FF stretch. I was surprised at how much cooler the water was upstream of the dam. Perkiomen watershed has some very respectable wild trout waters. Good luck fishing them!

Thanks! That's good to know, I always wondered if there were any wild trout upstream of the designated FF area. I'll have to give it a shot sometime.
