I have to get away from White Deer Creek for a bit and I was thinking that I would head over to the paradise. I've only fished it once before, but it was in January. Does anyone have any advice as far as what I should put in the fly box before I go? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks and tight line to all of you.

I got a good few on sulphurs and sulphur nymphs in Spring on saturday. Expect to see them, tanish caddis, and perhaps a march brown or two. Have some sulphur spinners handy too.

Scuds and sowbugs for the times with no hatch. Should do well fished in tandem with a sulphur nymph.

Fishing the Paradise section is pretty neat, but don't discount the rest of Spring Creek. Paradise is kind of tricky to fish (no wading). There are other sections that are a bit easier to fish. The fish are pressured all up and down the stream though. On the plus side, there are lots of trout all up and down the stream!

Size 22-28 Letort fur bodied Cinnamon ants-dry
size 22 fur bodied nymphs wet in light Grey, dark brown or light brown-one color will be hot, other two not-very selective.Just a tapered fur body-no collar,no tail. Will need just enough wt-to get down to near bottom.-take selection with you as speed and depths vary.No disrespect to others but simple nymphs are deadly in that size.
Fast water fish normal nymph style
If they still have dam and pool above-fish down stream in pool to selected fish -watch for``the pink'' if it takes and just tighten line strike or slip strike.
That type of nymph fishing is deadly and maybe the most enjoyable of all fly fishing for trout as you are targeting a fish and observe take.try it you will love it.
This is clear water fishing of course.
They love the letort style fur bodied ants.Light and dark brown-never saw need for black in smaller sizes.
Good luck-You can get some MONSTER trout to take those dries-landing one something else. One pound test leaders and five pound plus trout ain't easy.

Don't leave home without some San Juan Worms! Saved the day more than once for me up there.
