I spent a last week chasing Coho Salmon, Big Browns and Steelhead in Ontario and Erie lakes.

Fished 18mile Creek, Oak Orchard River, Johnson Creek, Marsh Creek, Chautauqua Creek in NY and 20 mile Creek, 16 mile Creek in PA.
Fishing Bonanza on Oak Orchard River remained me of recent Salmon River-Pulaski…trip where Jock Scott fly is not exactly what you need to catch the fish.
Archery Club in Orleans County on the river is remarkable place and quite amusement spot to entertain yourself. You can get nice bowl of beef-up soup until 2 afternoon if you forget about fishing for 5 or 10min.

Cohos here do not jump as bravely and violently as male Kings on SR but they give you some trills pronto. Fishing Erie tribes was like a mistake and a bit frustrating time; fish scarcely spread and spooky as hell.
I have a great time in Orleans County and made some fine memories with salmon landings and countless hookups.

Oh god you spot burned 18mile how dare you! Hey I am JK looks like fun. 18mile is one of my favorite places to fish in the great lakes. The people are always very freindly and people fish nice together for the most part. Of course there are always a few bad eggs pun intended ha. I will be up this weekend hopefully the weather is nice to me. Already been a great year trib fishing for me.

Good work.

Thanks Andy, I missed the Hancock final chapter. Would you reconsider another one…?

PS: trike23: 18 mile in NY in not at all to consider “the spot to be burned'”. This is a very short tribe with big crowd. There are better/less known “kriks” to fish in the Archer’s Club area (with no toilets or food to sere).

Very nice Jared, congrats. Could you put a smile on next time? :-D

Jared,

I'm up there 5-10 times a year (april-august). Just give me a shout and if the dates match up, we'll hook up. I can't think that 20% of the guys I've taken up has seen it when the s+it has hit the fan. Just keep coming up and you'll hit it right. It can be jaw dropping.

Andy, Hancock area is remarkable and plenty of good water to cover.
It’s a second, unraveled tier of the Catskills, full of native browns…hey skybay (-talking to myself) stop burning the spots here…

It is a bit of the distance to me but its ok when I’m ready for a venture.
I got my NY license already. 🙂

Love NY trib fishing. Just spent the last few days there. Started on LO tribs, ended on LE tribs. All in NY.

Didn't have near the success in LO as usual at this time of year, especially the last two banner years where the trout were plentiful and large.(Even by NY standards) Got some kings and 2 cohos, but the trout fishing was slow. Of course though, I don't fish Burt or Oak, not my cup of tea fishing around that large of a crowd. Usually have no trouble finding trout in the smaller tribs, this time not so.

Finished in LE, did great there on steelhead. Between two of us caught enough to wear you out. LOL All decent size but none of trophy proportions this trip.

Will be back up in a week and a half, we'll see how the trout'n is then.

In the meantime, get on your local streams. The big boys are on the move now with the approaching spawn. Been seeing/catching some real nice sized fish before the NY trip. Best time of year for true trophy class fish, at least where I spend my time.

Jared, stop spot burning my cricks. LOL GG

Sorry Art, it was not my intention to burn the Archery 'crick', 🙂 only to mention the excellent meals they have, hot coffee and toilets.

Come over with your rod, we may burn just a little...

Kidding Jared,i'm headding that way Thur. GG
