Hello,

I am glad to be a new member of the PA Fly Fish crew. I am hoping to better understand spots to fish in Southeastern PA and in South/Central Jersey. I hike the WIssahickon area often and have seen people fishing there over the years, but being new to the sport, I am not sure of exactly where and when is best.

Also, if there are any groups that meet-up to fish, I would love to join in when schedules allow.

A million thank yous for any information that you can share. I promise to be a good steward and share the knowledge and appreciation of the sport with others.

Best,
Katie

I’ll give this one a bump. Welcome to PAFF! I’m from Lancaster county so not really that close and don’t have a ton of recommendations but there are a lot of members from your area and hopefully someone will chime in soon.

Katie: Welcome and good luck. The PFBC mapper page is a big help in finding trout fishing streams. See post #3. I live in central PA so can’t help with any first hand information about Philadelphia. I lived in Delco for the first half of my life and fished Ridley Creek a lot, but that was 30 years ago. I can say that it was a very good starter stream. Also, I often made the trip to Reading to fish the Tulpehocken, another good stream and heavily stocked. I later lived in southern Chester County and fished the white Clay Creek regularly; a well- stocked early season stream.

Yo, katiekelly, sorry I missed this in April. I sent you a PM. I know the mighty Wissahickon well, having grown up fishing it. I would be happy to send you some pins to spots to investigate.
