Nets

Always carry a net, but rarely use it. Better safe than sorry.

McSneak,
I'll assume your net may be the origin of mud snail and zebra muscles in the NE. You don't happen to raise Gobis do you? Meh, you probably wear felts too. :-D

I carry a net.

Kray

You might get better distance with this, but carrying could be a problem. 🙂

The net I used to use is one of these...

I also have one I made out of walnut and maple, but I never put a net on it.

Krayfish, so that's how brookies get over waterfalls? Interesting.

This is the one I use!

Where do you guys find these things? I browsed their site and see some possible Christmas gag gifts. Guess I got some shopping to do.

I actually got it for christmas last year, just an empty box but it was hilarious.

I see they are cheaper in bulk. Recyclable gag gifts. Love it.

T understand my humor, I do giant stockings for the family. A few years back, my youngest nephew was yanking all kinds of junk out of his sock when he got to the gem at the bottom. Started jumping around yelling 'yes'. His fad said let me see what you got. It was an ovulation test kit from dollar tree!! LMAO.

I'd use a net to fish for those flying carp if i ever had the chance to go , a net in one hand and a pitchfork in the other.

that net hat is awesome. regarding nets I used to not have one but have had to many time where a fish was at my feet and it jumped the hook when I was picking it up. bought a nice frabill net at ****s this past summer. broke it in during the trico hatches. its a wooden net with the clear rubber netting. I think it was on sale for like 20 bucks so I had to get it.

I have the same one, rig it with para cord or a magnetic release, cause the standard cord will break.

I always have a net. even if you're fishing for brookies in a mountain stream, theres always a chance that you'll hook that 10-12"er, then you'll be glad you brought it. magnetic releases are very convenient, but some of the magnets on the market aren't strong enough, which can allow you're net to get caught on something while your walking and come off without you knowing it. i've lost two nets this way.
