So there is a pretty good chance that I'll be moving to Randolph County West Virginia. Randolph County sits on the border of the Monongahela National Forest. I have been doing some research on the wild trout fishing in that area and it appears the Brookie fishing is great, but i can't find much on the Wild Brown trout fishing other than the Elk River, do any of you guys know much about west virginia brown trout ?

There is a pretty good WV fly fishing forum, I would search it out. The guys there seem pretty friendly and informative, so I think you will get some nudges in the right direction.

you must eat here, http://smilingcountry.com/swissvillage/Hutte.htm
located in Helvetia, a tiny swiss settlement near the kumbrabow state forest. great place, great folks. we have a motorcycle campout there every halloween, it usually snows! nice B&B there as well, take your wife if you have one.
nice brookie stream flows through town as well.
as for browns, don't know, might wanna ask on the WV forum,

man, I'm jealous, tons of cool stuff that way, awesome wilderness areas, fantastic fishing, miles and miles of wilderness brookie streams in the national forest, and lots of friendly folks.
and if your a beer drinker, I know these guys, they brew some good stuff. co-owner Willie is from Helvetia. http://mountainstatebrewing.com/
can you tell I love WV and spend a lot of weekends there?!

PM sent.

your handle will fit in nicly with the locals !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lmao sand fly, i'm actually in west virginia right now and wow these mountains are something else. I hate driving in this state, going to take some time to get used to this landscape. I am going to miss nwpa once i move down here.

What are you talking about. Clarion County sucks unless you are fond of old stripmines. I'll never move back to that county.

No offense intended, it just really sucks.

oh yeah, west virginia beats NW PA any day of the week. unless your in the southern part where the mountain top removal mining is taking place, now that REALLY sucks. but randolph county is very nice, Elkins can be a pain to get through, but 20 minutes out of town and your in some splendid settings, AND cell coverage is horrible and in lots of place nonexistant,(greenbank) which is awesome!
just remember, mountains=trout!

Spent the day in the Monongahela National Forest, didn't get a chance to fish, but you are right biker it is beautiful. Dave, Clarion County is really starting to rebound, Southern Clarion County has 4 Wild Brown Trout Streams, Two of which are near class A status. Northern Clarion County has some real nice brookie streams, but i'll miss it most because it has been home for 30 years.
