I'll be in Huntingdon shooting skeet all next week, and hope to hit the stream a couple evenings. I've never fished it before. I'm new to euro nymphing and will do some of that. I understand the Sulfurs might be hatching as well.

Sulphurs are a great hatch to hit on the Little J. If you're only fishing the evenings, you might not need to nymph much.

Watch the flows. It is currently blown out with another 1" of rain forecast over the next couple of days. There is more rain predicted next week as well. At least in the gorge, it needs to get below 500 cfs before you really even think about fishing it. I fished it at 700 once and will not do that again.

I agree with Rovert. However you can wade spots above 500 if you know the river and pick your spots carefully. I don’t fish in the gorge much.

It’s at about 1300 and it will be about a week until it’s under 500 this time of year. If we get more rain - longer. I see about 1.5” forecast in the next week for Tyrone.

There are always smaller creeks to fish if you’re not sure about the river.

Thanks for the info. I don't know anything about the stream, nor do I even know where the gorge is! I'll try to find it!!

It's dropping pretty slowly.
But the upper part of the river should be fishable by the weekend
Barring more rain of course

Im a high water guy (I'd prefer the LJ at 700 cfs to 200 cfs anytime) but these flows and more rain on the way scream take 322W up onto the plateau and hit the brookie streams to me.
