Has anyone fished this section lately? I was thinking of hitting it later today.

Did you ever head out? I was thinking of maybe hitting the lower river this weekend, dont know many areas down there but with the upper river at approx 45-46 i am thinking down there might be closer to 50 or slightly above

Sorry, we did not. Weather was not good. We are fishing the North Branch Susquehanna this last weekend.

You may be right about the temps. The North Branch was 50 on Sunday with numerous stoneflies. Tunckhannock Creek (trib to North Branch) has a nice tan caddis hatch this evening.

Let me know if you see any good hatches. I may be tempted... 😉

Hendricksons have been on in Lehighton area. Fish have been up and eating and are very fat. They wintered over well and are in the usual fishy looking lies. If you live close by now is the time to scope it out. Fishing release this weekend so flows should be manageable.

I wish I could fish that stream. Last week I was fishing the Lehigh Canal in Walnutport and was talking to a guy anchored in his drift boat in the river next to the canal. He said it was sort of the end of season for hendrixsons. He boated one right in front of me. He had admirable skills and I was jealous.

anyone know if the planned ww release for saturday is still happening? I'm not sure folks could social distance in a raft but what do i know

The release will go on as planned. Whether the rafting companies comply with the Social Distancing orders is yet to be determined. Maybe they received waivers?

Should be interesting to see how many WW rafts are on the river.

i was hoping since we got boned the last 2 weekends AND its impossible to comply with current regulations maybe we would get 400 all weekend

Do you know for a fact that its still a WW saturday or just guessing based on experience?

I hate to bother people on here with these questions but the CORP has their facebook set up so that you cant really see their posts unless you have a facebook account which i do not, thanks!!

I would put money on the Corps following the plan. Its been wet and the Lehigh is a big river. Unfortunately that will make for a tough for a wade angler. And especially in the Spring when waters are already a bit on the higher side.

The ACOE is going to follow the plan to release 800 CFS on Saturday and back it down to 400 on Sunday. Current inflow is around 600 cfs.
