Best place for good fishing. The hub! Pine Creek, West Branch Pine Creek, Genesee Forks a little above, Lyman Run a little over. Owasseee a little bit down and Watrous a little further. Galeton Market for good subs and fried chicken, best fireworks ever on Galeton Lake, just a whole good feeling here! Like to see it again but if not, I am okay knowing I was there!

How about Gaines, poppers. How about fire engine that missed the turn. How about all those sporting goods shops that are no longer there. How about the Ice Mine, how about the places to eat, how about the churches bazzars. Well, how about that.

What makes me rich, is not loot! Loot goes and memories last forever!

The trip of a lifetime, if you take your time! To see all those little other places. Small gift shops, small campgrounds, small people, who in fact are, "Bigger Than Life". Ray Teats had the adjustable minnow rig and I had the "trout gang hooks". At one time, Galeton was the stop of a lifetime.

You want fishing, you want left alone, you want fun.

All this has changed over the years to lesser. Maybe time will change it to better! If you only knew, how Galeton Gleamed at one time. I saw it. "Magical".

Let me ask this. A "Big Company". Do you know the draw of workers. A Little tough on Transit, but the draw of workforce, the capture of rebuilding a town, the gift of fulfillment, the reign of honor, the satisfaction of best.

Not a little "Whisp", no Walmart, Dollar General, Cvs, etc. A company that could, lets say 2500 employees. All you little screws need not apply, The giant nail is what will work here!

An Army awaits. Galeton had a nice economy and downtown at one time. Maybe time is now!

My wife and I like Galeton. Friendly people, grocery and hardware stores, beer distributor, Fine Wines and Spirits shop, gas, and only six miles from camp. I see the old Ox Yoke is now the Tavern at Pine Creek. We'll have to try it soon.

I visited Pete Rickards place and thought it was interesting.

Part of what makes the past so wonderful is that it is the past.

You know, I wish I could go back in time and do it all over again and again. What great memories, Galeton, Wets Pike, Sabinsville, Westfield and do not forget Ulysees. Then to Germania for some cheese at store.

Big beard and a few teeth but brother, "could he dance". If I was unhappy for some reason, Williamsport way, I soon cheered up and started singing when I hit Ansonia!

I drove up there last winter and got some of that Germania store cheese. It wasn't the same as it used to be.

I am sure, nothing brother is like it used to be! But as an old man can i not dream of the days of milk and honey. Being full with out eating! Silent thoughts, but screams inside. That is what I am trying to get across. I state, as it was, will be again!

As I travel and try to keep in touch, More and more regulated stream.
You as brother should evaluate. Buy a license and fish your way! The signs are all around. Does it work, yes for a short time. I always look long term. Long term, I see 4 to 7% yearly loss. High numbers, not really, all how you look at big picture. Worms, Hooks, flies, breakfast, gas, boots, vests, champagne and caviar!

Education, Education, Education! All colleges, all schools, an enrollment in Pa. great outdoors! Master class for master blasters!

The cheese is not the same but I think we can make better cheese.
What the hell is going on. I see it, you do too! Stop!

Maybe a simple license for non fishermen. I like it but do not do it anymore. The memories will win. Couple bucks and get you recognized and remembered in some way. You have to think, "Where no man has gone before". Lets call this "fishing Religion" Why not? Maybe a fishermans prayer book is due!

Uncle has a camp in cross fork great area up there to hunt and fish.

I read an article that they were planning on removing it. It’s a dated from 2018

I believe the borough hired a consultant to do a feasibility study on removal and rehabilitation of the lake area vs repairing the dam. From my understanding, the consultant was prepared to recommend removal as the financially responsible and environmental friendly option and the a select few borough leadership ran the consultant out of town.

Thought I saw an article in the last year or so that local legislature had leveraged state funds to do dam repairs.

#1 A select few borough leadership did not run the consultant out of town.

#2 The borough council looked at both removing the dam & keeping it. The choices were presented at several meetings open to the public which we were allowed to speak our opinions.

#3 The 2 choices then were put on the fall ballot to vote(all borough residents) & the dam is staying. But with certain stipulations, like keeping the dam dredged, installing a fish ladder, etc.

Small town America needs our support now more than ever. These small businesses are struggling to survive.

I do however predict a shift in lifestyles amid all of the crisis in the cities with the pandemic and now the looting and violence. There will be a shift back toward small town living especially since now the work from home movement has been accelerated with the recent events.

Small town living will again be preferred over the larger cities. Maybe those in small town America don't want city folk to converge on their towns, but I can see it happening.

Big cities are going to have a tough time luring people back. I have worked in Philadelphia for 25 years. I am not eager to return.

I doubt they will move into the towns. They will buy up land and build McMansions. Sprawl will follow. I fear this does not bode well for our rural landscapes or our water quality.

I dont think that will happen at all. Too many people actually like the hussel and bussel of city living.
Beyond that the country is too quiet and buggy
