Favorite flyfishing beer

+1 mckillja!! When I first saw the post, I was thinking Straub. I love having the 16 oz. returnables ice cold at the truck waiting for me. I enjoy micro brews, but when I am finishing up a day in Penn's Woods, I always have Straubers waiting for me.

On the stream, a flask of Crown will keep me warm/make me sweat, depending on the season. I don't always have Crown with me, but a cheap cigar and Crown always go well together.

When I fish with my spin rod, or casting tackle, usually for bass or crappie......... it's beer all the way! I like them all.

But with a fly rod, usually trout ........ it's wine or bourbon!

Yuengling is definitely number one but I am becoming a fan of the Yards Brawler as of late. It's a great beer.

Chub you may be my long lost brother because Crown is my favorite spirit as well. Once i started drinking Straub a few years ago everything else seems second fiddle. I love the taste of that beer and the straub extra special dark is some fine nectar.

When I go into my local beer supplier the thought runs through my mind: "So many beers, so little time." That being said my favorite hot weather beer is Corona at about 33 degrees. Some others include: Exit 4 IPA (I am from NJ), Otter Creek Copper Ale and Grolsch. By the way, speaking of beer, how far up the bank do you go to get rid of your beers after consumption?

cold.

I've had quite a few over the years.
I was buying yuengling lager for quite a long time - and still enjoy it occasionally.
Not long ago however - on the advice of several forum members here - I bought a case of lions head. And it's become my latest fishing beer

It'a a pilsner beer made in Wilkes-Barre. It's certainly a lighter brew than most of the others mentioned in this thread. But my tastes have changed somewhat as I age - been getting away from the heavier, darker beers

Do you get the ones with the swing tops? If so would you be willing to part with the empties?

Csoult ,
yer literally a week late i just game a half case of empty swing ceramic stopper topped Grolsch bottles to a buddy that makes some killer ales for me. I keep ya in mind though

Wow, you young lions must be real connoisseurs. With my plebeian tastes, I have never heard of half of the beers you are naming. I guess I've led a very sheltered life.

Budweiser or Utica Club always taste good on and off the water.
