Does anyone know if it is possible to bleach wings white? Either turkey or pheasant wings. I have a bunch of pheasant wings and was thinking about bleaching some white so I have some nice white biots to use. Can't seem to find any good info on this. I tried using bleach and bleach and water combo but it ended up just disintegrating the wings. Any tips?

Having the same problem. I got some lightening with peroxide, but it took a few days. The dark parts on a turkey feather turned to a light amber. My next experiment will be with hair "bleach".

flytying fred does it all the time for me, they will not quite get to white but a nice tannish/cream works. formula is in AK Best's book on dying. you have to real careful or you will damage the wing or lose some skin in the process.

^^ This is a must have book.
