In a properly set up flow through system, the water in a raceway should completely change every twenty minutes.I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the fish would cook pretty quickly in the raceway in the hot weather

found this. Its detected in Spring creek and Bald eagle and apparently all waters in the area according to this:I heard about the PFAS in the groundwater near the airport some time ago, and that's documented in the article.
But has all the stuff about the hatchery closing, and their water supply being contaminated with PFAS coming from some reliable source, or is it just speculation?
Is the Benner Spring hatchery still operating? It is closer to the airport than the Bellefonte hatchery.
Was just going to say that it sounds synonymous with Gorton's or Mrs. Paul'sSmells like fish sticks
Tionesta hatchery closed for Covid and has still not open for public yet.As regards the visitation policy, it could simply be something as innocent as a carryover from COVID that they either prefer to keep in place or just haven't got around to changing back. Point is, doesn't have to be some sort of conspiracy..

OTOH, the reason that Spring Creek was first designated "fish for fun" (as it was called back in the day) was high levels of toxic heavy metals. I don't believe that's changed, and I don't see additional toxins change anything.I’m not sure that raising fish intended for consumption in this type of pollution is a good idea.
That has changed. The toxins in Spring Creek fell below the government designed no consumption levels quite a few years ago. At that time the PFBC decided to keep the catch-and-release regs because trout populations were doing well and anglers were happy with the fishing. This is the problem with the internet these days. People post and respond to all kinds of crap and convince themselves that some conspiracy is at play. They've go no evidence, but they talk each other into believing all sorts of crap.
you are all wrong. That where they placed the Paterno statue LOLI read on another website that they were hiding a PA mountain lion in there and thats why the gates were locked!
