As I get older I seem to take just an extra second or 2 to soak them in...... Hard to explain.
Having a camera in your vest pocket at all times helps to ease the faint pain of letting that beauty swim away.
Had one of those special days yesterday. Got to see way more of them than I probably deserve to.

I was out too yesterday on a small Class A mix Brookie/Brown stream, though after fishing it, I suspect it’s mostly Browns. Went too far north (cold) and west and missed most of that rain bump. Managed to find one dumb, but pretty one, but it was a slow day for me.

Those are some pretty wild browns! Having a good camera certainly helps in showing their beauty. My iPhone actually takes very nice pictures. I'm never on a stream without it.
New phone cameras are amazing....those were taken with my Google Pixel 6 phone. Which also makes it immediately convenient to send the pictures to the one buddy who decided not to come. 😂

That's one of the best parts of having an Olympus tg5 is that it bluetooths to your phone. When we take a lunch break I can send off a bunch of photos to somebody who didn't show up just to rub their nose in it 😁. Good looking fish by the way

You may be approaching a PAFF record for "Likes" with this thread. :)

When I catch a beautiful wild trout, either brook, brown, or rainbow, I'll often take a quick pic and release it. When it swims away like greased lightning, it gives me an awesome sense of appreciation for the opportunity that I just experienced. That photo I took allows me to keep that memory for life.

As I get older, I realize that I have more fishing trips behind me than I have ahead of me. It's sometimes hard to grasp that realization, but I'm just thankful for what I've been able to enjoy for a lot of years.

I got out today and had to improvise because I left my Spring fly boxes on DR table after spending the Winter filling them up. Lots of rising fish and I knew I didn't have exactly what they wanted so I had to Macguyver some flies to try and present something acceptable. BWOs, Grannoms, and I believe Hendrickson's were all hatching. Charcoal Clown Shoe Caddis minus Mcflyfoam post, and Parachute Adams minus post both saved the day.

No sooner do I make a comment on this thread and I got yinzers sending me pictures from the river and shaming me for not being out there 🤣
I don't remember if my license expired at the end of last year or at the end of this year. Hell, I don't even know where it's at.
