New guy from Chester county

I’m a new member hailing from southern Chester County. I’ve been fly fishing with various degrees of success for a few years now. I grew up in New Castle County Delaware and have primarily fished those stretches of White Clay, Brandywine, and the Christina river. Looking to expand my horizons and really dive into fly fishing this year. Thanks for having me

Welcome. I used to live in Nottinghmam and know the area well. Not the best trout fishing in the state, but there are a couple of streams that are nice enough.

Welcome aboard. Every spring PAFF features a fishing "JAM" where many of the members meet and fish together in the Central PA area. You can learn a lot from this get together. It generally takes place in mid to late May. The gang books cabins and tents at Seven Mountains Campground outside of State College. The actual date is usually set sometime in December, so keep an eye out for the "Jam" announcement.

Welcome. Deep diving into fly fishing can really put a stranglehold on you. If I don't fish every 2 weeks or so I get cat scratch fever!

I hear that, I get a little grumpy if I don’t get some time in the woods or water every few days. I am fortunate my wife understands, especially with deer season coming up!

Yes! Bow season is almost here. I'm in 5-D, which is a Special Regs WMU, and our season opens next Saturday. I have two nice 8pts coming past my trail cams. Here's one of them. The trick is seeing them during daylight though.

Heck of a deer! I try to get out when I can during early season, but once November comes around I get a little obsessed with it. If I get my act together next fall I’ll be hunting exclusively with a long bow, for some reason I just want to do things the hardest way possible. Must be some kind of masochist. 😂

I agree, the rut is what gets my undivided attention. I'll even go as far as to do dark to dark hunts occasionally.

And while I don't hunt, I cannot possibly wish any harder for you to have a successful deer hunting season. I've lost two cars to deer collisions...the fewer of them, the better IMO.

Thanks! Deer collisions are just awful all around, hopefully I can fill the freezer again this year. You grew up not far from me, I’m down in West Grove.
