Hang time Muskie fly

I use an 8w but thats just my preference. Sink tip lines for the big river. Weight forward floating for the shallow rivers. I like okuma reels they have always been relieble.

Thanks guys, gonna give them a more serious shot this year. I have both of those set ups, so I should be good from a gear standpoint. Now i just need to work on casting, presentation, and fishing ability. Minor details.

Wear a football helmet and safety glasses lol. Seriously though be careful my buddy put a big rat fly in his shoulder. Just don't get frustrated. Keep at it man it is well worth it. Once you get that muskie thrashing at the end of your line you will know what i mean.

bead wire worked like a charm...thanks again.

just gotta take it swimming now.

nice! just gave me some inspiration to try a few of my own. question though...double hook or just wire extension? sorry to the OP, I helped take this thing way off topic....but the info/help has been great.

I'd go double hook but again thats just me.

yep two hooks on that one. saving up for a 10wt so hopefully the 8 can handle it for now.

work on line speed and shooting
you'll be able to get that with an 8

just don't try to carry 40ft of some trout tapered line

(or buy my LA reel in the classifieds and my 10wt and i'll throw in a line)

i was checking that out this morning actually...

still at work but i'll shoot you a pm later tonight.
