I caught no trout on GD dries. I did catch something like 7 smallmouths on coffins and duns. There were too many people around, so I just stayed in the smallmouth pool, rather than moving into faster water and hoping for a fish to rise.

When jack left, I went down to the stretch where he had success. Three more fish rose, and I managed to catch one of them on my nymph dropper.

I forgot my long sleeves one night, and am now covered in insect bites. Fun trip nonetheless.

My last 3 days fishing the GD none on dries either has been horrid like getting kicked in the nutsack. I did managed 2 on beadhead nymphs 2 bass, 1 white fish, and a chub.

Have you fished the morning yet? It seems to have been the best-kept secret this past weekend. Now that the water is clearing, first light might be even more important.
