I was give the minnow pattern on the lid (the top one) about 5 years ago. Was always afraid to fish it because i didn’t want to lose the only one I had. The closest thing I found that I had materials to tie was a Pinfry pattern.
Lead weight.
Mallard flank
red floss
tan thread
white floss for head

I love those Slate Drakes! That bottom one though I'd lose those tails just tying it on my line!
Thanks!....as long as I don't get too heavy handed with the hemostats releasing fish, the March Brown tails actually hold up pretty well!

A favorite of mine. Green ( chartreuse) bodied Adams # 16. Great searcher and good when Lime Sallies are flitting about. Also good in summer; perhaps they view it as a terrestrial.

i'll second that one. Used to just call that a yellow Adams. But very effective especially early and as many have said, yellow flies work very well on the Tully for some reason.
