Drove up this evening and was surprised to see the savage running like chocolate milk. Went up to the reservoir and it's pretty clear, not sure where the mud is coming from. I'm going to do a little exploring tomorrow morning. I drove through westernport and while it's dry from the flooding you can see a lot of damage.

Wow that’s crazy. It’s been at 217 for days so it should be the normal color. Wonder if the res flipped or something and the water at the top is clear but the lower level of the lake is muddy?

Maybe, I'm pretty stumped, never seen this before. I'm going to hike up above the PhD pool tomorrow, if the path wasn't completely washed out and see what I can find. There are not any feeders that could be causing this that far up.

I think this has to be the answer, that silt from all the damage that was done with the storm must be sitting on the bottom by the release. Here are some more pics, I ended up fishing for about an hour.

A bonus no doubt! If I get an hour to fish I'm pretty much going to do it, worst than that happens is a skunk.
Interesting. The water temps are cool but above 50 and the flows are lowish and the turbidity is high. Seems like a perfect setup for fishing streamers.

I've never seen the savage devoid of fisherman on a weekend with the flows high but definitely fishable. There was not a single fisherman from the PhD pool down to the north branch. I think everyone took a look at the chocolate milk and changed plans. Streamer fishing is not my favorite but I will do it when I have to. I guess I learned something because my first instinct was don't waste your time.
