Took the yak out for the first time this year - to fish a body of water I hadn’t fished in nearly 40 years. It was a nice morning with cloud cover - usually a good thing. For all the improvements and regulations on this lake, the water was a greenish brown soup - not sure if it was an algae bloom or what - but this was a couple of steps above the usual eutrophication green color. Visibility might have been 15 inches. I just like to see fish to cast to - but this wasn’t an option. I ended up with two smallish Bluegills but will probably won’t make the effort for another 40 years I suppose. I did get to test the yak anchor and home made PVC fly rod holder. Fished last years model Butterstick in the 580 configuration with small streamers and poppers. Kinda disappointed with the low vis 😑
