I think I remember someone crafting a nice streamer storage box along the lines of a Cliffs Bugger Beast. Picked up flat and rippled foam at Cabelas ($4 each). What type of box would you recommend to come up with something like the Bugger Beast?

The bugger beast looks like a waste of money to me. I don't own one, but big flies aren't staying in those slots. You're way better off with a plastic box designed to store crankbaits or rapalas, like these:

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0023218016580a&navCount=1&podId=0023218&parentId=cat600036&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat600036&catalogCode=IA&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat600036&hasJS=true

Those big foam fly boxes are OK for streamers, but they aren't big enough for night flies. I like to tie big conehead woolly sculpins and articulated streamers for daytime fishing, and i prefer to store those in multi-compartment plastic boxes as well. Don't bother trying to find something to fit something into a vest pocket. Just get a small backpack.

I have a 6x4 ripple foam box and a big plastic deal like the one linked to above.

I store all of my meat flies in the big box, then select a few for the ripple foam before I go to the stream.

there was a great tip about how to build your own bugger barn, cheap:

If you would just fish tiny small flies like God intended fly fisherman to do, you would have to worry about this.

meat flies = meat head

LMAO

Agreed!

That is why some people don't.

See what I did there? I made fun of you because you left a crucial word out of your silly statement, therefore making me look awesome while belittling you at the same time. Interewebz bullying is funnies.

I see you got your shed moved . . . .

There are some very nice, large foam fly boxes mainly designed for salt water fly collections that are stored somewhere in a boat. While spacious and nice, they're generally too large to carry in a fishing vest or chest pack. As a compromise, this meathead likes the typical clear plastic compartment boxes for very large flies. They're cheap, can be crammed with flies, and availiable in sizes that can still fit in a pocket. Shown below is my trout streamer box which includes flies up to about 4 inches and is the typical foam fly box. For very large muskie flies, mostly over 6 inches, I like the clear plastic type shown on the left.

Thats good work for the Element! Well Done!

Buck up $15 and get a double nubby from Cabelas. They're cheap and hold a decent amount of streamers...

Introducing the Glock Meat Box or GMB.

May santa bring you enough double bunnies to fill that. Thank you for finding my error. I need to be more careful when typing. This stuff is seen 'world wide' and I don't want to tarnish my image.

I just found out that santa is having chinese on x-mas. You're screwed.

I just think it is funnies when people say the complete opposite of what they mean due to typo.

ZOMG! Santa is Jewish? No wonder he works on JC's b'day!

the bugger barn i just got one and it seems to hold flies pretty tight but as again after steelgead season ill let you know if it is still holding flies or if i donated it to the trash gods.....
