I pick up a pack of CDC dubbing at the show last week. I have tied a few dry flies they seem a little bulky. Any one used CDC dubbing? Do you like it ..... how does it fish?

never used it but the flies i've seen all seem bulky, i like a good poly dub floats forever..

I picked up some last summer but it was, as you said, bulky. I just used it up tying some wooly bears. I do use CDC for bodies, on all my caddis, some of my mayfly and midge dries. I just tie it in by the tip and wrap it.

Flydog; Google, Bruns vulgata emerger, shows how to dub cdc, hope this helps.

I like that polychenille for extended bodies. Here is a direct link to the fly LouM referred to above:

Bruns Vulgata Emerger Instructions

I also noticed this good tip:

TIP: Don't throw your CdC leftovers when you tie flies. Collect the feathers and use them as dubbing.
