Can anyone tell me what this is? There were a handful of brown drakes also, so maybe this is one but in a different stage in its life? Thanks...

Appears to be the schuck of a fly that has gone from dun to spinner. From the size, probably one of the drakes you saw.

Correct. Not a bug. It's the skin that a bug left behind while molting.
