Greetings folks. I'm going to keep thus respectfully short.

I have two scouts who need to tie a couple flies each for a requirement on a merit badge they both have partial completion on.

I used to have a nice set of folks that I donated to a kid interested in fly tying about 25 years ago.

I'm looking for someone local willing to spend a couple hours with us to get a couple flies done please?

Unfortunately I’m not local to your area, but being an Eagle Scout myself I would absolutely love to help with this as I still have a soft spot in my heart for the BSA and the morals and ethics that it can instill in our young kids that are willing to work for something. I have to think there would be someone on PAFF out in the Pittsburgh area that would be willing to help out. If not, maybe we could meet somewhere halfway??

Sorry, wrong side of the state for me. You could contact TU or Project Healing Waters. They should have a chapter nearby, if nobody responds on PAFF.

I suggest you contact the Orvis store in Pittsburgh. They run free Fly tying101 classes and have all the equipment, tools and people to teach the boys.

Great tips folks, much appreciated. I'll check with the Orvis store first as time is of the essence. The local TU meetings are a good lead too, thank you all!
