I made a crappy streamer box the other year and it was pretty sad. I thought of of getting a pistol case and having another go at it. I really wanted a bugger barn but couldn't bring myself to spend that much on something I'd use a few days a year. While digging around on the Cabelas site, I came across these. I'm not exactly the biggest Cabelas fan but thought the price was right and decided to order one. I read the reviews and they were favorable so.....what the hell.

It came last night and I was impressed with the quality and it was bigger than expected. The foam is thick and should hold most bass and trout streamers. The drying patch on the exterior is a plus. It also has the zerust tab on the inside. It's a pretty solid box.

If you are considering a boat box or bigger streamer box, give these a look. I got the medium and it's big enough to hold 2 pistols. It's too big to lug around in a backpack. A small should be enough for most uses. A medium will hold a pile of stuff and would be good for in a boat. The large..... think musky fly storage. LOL.

Right now these are in the bargain cave for a few bucks off.

I've had a few of these Cabela boxes for quite some time and I really like them. When I've gone to fly tying shows with my club, I pre-tie a bunch of the flies I'll be tying and put them in the boxes. I leave the boxes open and while I'm tying and promoting the benefits of whatever fly I'm working on, guys drool over them and I sell the flies out of the box and donate the money to my club. I use them for largish streamers and you're right Kray2 after fishing I put the used flies in the outside foam and put the box on my truck seat or even on the dashboard. By the time I get home I have a bunch of dry as a bone flies.
