What would be the best fly right now to use for the next 2 weeks or so be it for either wild or stockies? I haven't had much luck yet with flies this year, probably mostly because Im not sure which flies are best to use?

There are no magic flies, really. You should be able to catch fish on a simple hares ear and/or pheasant tail nymph or a wolly bugger, anytime for all trout.

The "secret" is getting a good drift with your flies and most times keeping your fly near the bottom.

Read this link and give it a go. Good luck.

The Adams, Royal Coachman/wulff, parachute hare's ear and elk hair caddis. Those would be your best generic flies this time of year.

If, on the other hand, you want to present exactly what is naturally occuring, you have to know the stream and it's hatches, know the timing and imitate as close as possible. This would involve at least a dozen possibilities at any given time of year.

I carry a few of everything at certain times as it isn't clear until you get onstream, what may be drawing the trouts' attention.
