I fished in the Rio Grande in Las Cruces. The only thing that I can surely tell you is that I didnt know what I was doing. I was trying to catch some unknown to me black fish that kept rising but not biting. And I know that the state fish police are vigilant, so buy a temp pass and follow rules.
They told me I should be fishing in the culverts. I thought I was too cool to ask what a culvert was and realized later I wasnt cool enough, because I still dont know what a culvert is.
I was souther than Taos, (but spent a night there) so I had a lot of mexicans with tattoos on their necks, and other extremities, watching the crazy gringo throw a fly in the chocolate river
Like the lisence plate says,"The Land Of Enchantment" is true though. Check out White Sands when not fishing if you have time. Its like nothing you've ever seen.
