Anyone been to Ennis MT ?

I thought that I had already posted here, but I must have hit the wrong button???

All that I would add at this point Paul is that as soon as you can learn to row a drift boat! Let everyone you know in Eniis that you want to learn and then take every opportunity to get time on the sticks. Since you will be living there the locals will expect that you will be an eager learner. The upper Madison can be a tricky river to row, lots of rocks to dodge, but all those rocks and current really makes you focus your attention.

There is a saying that goes like this, "If you can't row you can't go". If there is someone looking for a buddy to go on a float one of the first questions that comes to mind is, "Can that guy row?"

When are you heading out? If you want to meet up I can get you in my boat and give you some serious rowing 101. There may be a catch though. You may have to jump off I90 and drive 40 miles and spend a day on the Big Horn with me. I know that is a huge sacrifice, but it will pay off.

Have fun planning and packing.

be sure to go to Custer Battlefield-oh-and don't forget deadwood-other than that-imagine in the old days-take more then a day-to get to the next hill-they were rugged-the timers-lol

BTW...what are you still doing here...actually I just remembered this and had heard anything for a while.

Are you still gonna be a Missoula Maulers fan?

he has missed the best dry fly fishing of the year-

Due to an unforseen circumstances I have to delay my departure date till July.

At worst I miss the Salmonfly- best I guess to fish a couple more PA hatches.

don't you dare come back before Nov. or I will disown you.
Be there in Oct. and I will put you on the most enjoyable flyfishing imaginable.

You get a feel for when in July? You know when I'll be there...

I get the feeling flybop has been busy working, but if you see this, know that I've been losing sleep over this trip, and I blame you!

pete41- you sound like Don Corleone.

"I made him an offer he could not refuse."

J- Depends on the state's ability to process paper work Jay.

may in Montana Caddis fishing is awesome-
also run off can be avoided-all he would have to do is go above West fork of Madison.
Small streams right along hiways-loaded with fish-seldom fished
Run off is no problem
forgot lakes-right after ice out-
july and august-howlers.

all kidding aside Paul-once be there for the fall fishing and between flybop and myself we will give you golden memories[more brown actually].
You really don't know how strong Browns can be until you fished some coming out of lakes to spawn-they won't jump as much[3 leaps my best] as rainbows but every bit as strong, pound for pound, and we are talking pounds, not inches.
You got my blood boiling,again.
It starts in early Sept. in the park-browns coming up the Madison.
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY SILLY REPORTS that this is easy fishing-it is not.Every bit as hard as any fly fishing for trout-you have to know how, when and where or you will get skunked and come home with tail between your legs, whining about Montana being over rated-the old hands just laugh.
I was good,could have been the champ-lol
Try it once-I will put you on them.
