Tip-top

I smacked a tree branch with the rod while trying to roll cast. It broke right at the edge of the tip-top. The first snake guide is maybe 4-5 inches below.
 
Why dont you just send it back and have it repaired or replaced?

Cause I just fixed it myself for $3. It would cost me $30 plus shipping (maybe $45) to return it to Redington for warranty repair.

I fished it Saturday without issue. Threw streamers, weighted nymphs, even a #18 Blue Quill dry just fine. We did joke about how much the action of the rod changed by shortening it 3/4 inch. It throws a 6 wt line now instead of a 4.
