While out on a wild brookie stream this afternoon/early evening, I saw this little fellow in a mostly stagnant pool, left isolated by the receding water (we had a major cloudburst Friday evening, the same one that dumped golf ball sized hail on Jake's vehicle across the river). I thought it was dead, as it was lying on it's side, and I picked it up. It was gasping a bit, so I snapped a photo quick and released it to the main stream. I thought it was a neat glimpse into what will hopefully some day grow into some of the other beauties that came to hand in this dandy of a stream...
Also saw the first blooming Mountain Laurel of the year...
(sorry for the low quality cell phone pics, I left my camera in the vehicle)
