Sulphur Spinners?

I've never seen a "rust" colored sulphur spinner. I agree that they probably take it based on the profile.

Jay, to my knowledge, our sulfurs are primarily consisted of 2 species. The smaller is dorothea (size 16-18), the larger are invaria (size 14-16). Dorotheas, in the dun stage, tend to be lighter colored, almost white in some cases, whereas the invaria's are more a yellow or orange. Both darken in the spinner stage, dorotheas to a more typical sulfur color, and invaria to orange, or dark brown (rust) type color, almost similar to a hendrickson.

Dorothea spinner: Couldn't find a troutnut picture, but the 3rd pic in this thread I think is one: http://www.paflyfish.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=87208

Yeah, I've just never seen one in person. I've fished heavy invaria spinner falls on all of the big four, and they were all only slightly darker than the duns.

its usually dark for the spinner for or damn near , color isn't a big deal like sillhouette or how ever u spell that word !
