Spring Steelhead at the Salmon River

I am planning two trips to the Salmon River in April for Spring Steelhead. We know where we're going, generally what we'll be using, and where we'll be staying. The question for me is whether any of the other Lake Ontario tribs in that area offer any Spring steelhead possibilities should the Salmon River be blown out. I'm familiar with both Sandy Creeks and Trout Brook have not fished them in the Spring. I've heard the Grindstone offers some Spring steelhead but know absolutely nothing about the stream.

Any stream that has them in the fall will still have them in the early Spring too. They are there all winter. This is the time they start dropping back into the lake when the water warms up. Summer runs are a different story. Skamania are summer run, but I have never fished for them so I have no idea.
