Looking for a good crane fly pattern. I have seen Jim Misiura's pattern but looking for something different, especially the wings. I could just use plastic sheeting but hopefully one of you has a pattern you can recommend.

Gene, this is one I've not fished yet but seems like it could turn the trick.

My adult cranefly pattern is just a yellow dub body, hackle tip wings (tied delta style) and a sparse hackle palmered thru the front, clipped sparse, and crumpled up a bit.

You want to keep adult craneflies very leggy, very sparse, and very small bodied.

When in doubt - make the body smaller and the hackle longer.

if i remember correctly, craneflies don't spend a lot of time on the water, so I have had pretty good success with a large, very sparse wet fly with colors just like the fly above.
