My parents are renting a cabin up in Hawley along the Lackawaxen River in mid-late October. Any recommendations on what flies to bring? Any chances of catching much that time of year?

I'd really like to see my dad catch a fish (and me too!)

Thanks in advance.

Ive fished it a few times. By now the section in Hawley outta be pretty warm. You can catch smallmouth bass though.

On 10/18 the fish commission stocks 0.6 Miles upstream of Middle Creek to the confluence with the Delaware River.
^this would be your best bet for trout.

However, maybe some of those large wild browns will have made there way up there by then.

Thanks for the reply, salve. Do you think those stocked trout will have made it to the Lackawaxen @ Hawley by the 22nd of October? Haven't been able to find where Middle Creek meets the Delaware River. (Google maps is failing me.)

Also is it on the fish commission web site about this stocking? Thanks man!

Yes sir.

Scroll down to Wayne County and youll see it.

As long as they stock it the 15th they will.On that first link I gave you, just click the highlighted blue long and lat. and you get this.
Upper stocking point.

They start stocking it just above Hawley and then down to the Delaware.

I think you should have a good trip on the 22nd. :)

Awesome! Thank you. I'll report back how it goes.
