I Know This Is A Long Shot (Off Topic) Digital Camera

Just when I was about to bite on the Canon with 6x, I saw this in Ritz Camera http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/casio_ex-v8.html $199.00 with a free printer? Well some things are coming down in price, cameras and computers!

Tom: Do know anything about the battery's used in this camera, lithium ion, I think? I am partial to standard rechargeable AA battery's. Also the camera has an internal telephoto, it is a little sluggish, compared to regular telephotos, I like a little more magnification than my current 3x.

The first paragraphs of these explain it more concisely then I began to...The L-ion batts are good for all the reasons explained..no reason to fear them..

Thanks Tom, good information

Which is the best site for accurate digital camera reviews? Thanks in advance

Have you checked newegg.com? It seems there are a lot of 8 M pixel cameras for a lot less than $200.

The advantage of Lithiumion is the power density. Usually the battery has more capacity than other types for the same size/weight. So you get more pictures per charge. The downside is that spares are not widely available and are more expensive. NiMH has about twice the life of Lithium but most of us don't keep the camera long enough for that to matter.

Dick,

I find that http://www.dpreview.com is pretty good for reviews.

Anyone know about the internal zoom feature on cameras, they seem to be a little slow, but are there are any issues with them? I am looking at 10x zooms now. Panasonic and Canon, probably the Canon (neither has the internal zoom)
