Two families in Potter County are experiencing similar problems with methane gas in their water wells, making them unsafe to use, while drillers there are attempting to find the source. One resident's water turned muddy last Saturday, changing to a blackish color, and combining with sizzling gas which would support a flame.

Yep. They live up on Paradise Road near Wyalusing, PA. Gas drillers are denying that they are the cause. (Evidently methane is "natural" in our area - per the gas co's.) That's rich. I've lived in BradCo for over 30 years and no one's well has ever produced methane until the gas drillers came in about a year ago.

But watching them stick a bic lighter to their tap is frickin' unreal!
