you guys are way to obsessive about your streamers. Wrap some material and hackle on a hook, counter-rib for durability and you're done... but, technically, the larger part of the hackle should be up front
 
I could do that, but it would make tying boring. It is the fly tying forum, after all...
 
Those are real nice looking wooly buggers jay , i tie them both ways but those in the pics look great , i beleive those would be tied in tip first with the convex side facing rear , the only thing i do different is a few strands 2 or 3 of something flashy in the maraboutail , crystal flash or flashabou , you don't really need it but you can easily pluck it out onstream if you need to , those in the pics look like they'd be pretty durable too , what usually happens to ruin my buggers is the hackle pulls out at the rear or gets cut by a tooth.
