A-ha! My point was that fish will feed on midges, but "crushing them" is difficult because it doesn't throw them into an all-out feeding frenzy like, umm, say, sulphurs do.

we are heading up to camp after work today for a 3 day weekend to fish spring, penns, and little j. i am hoping that the bwo hatch comes off on the spring like it did last yeat on this weekend. if not word on the bank is there are some dumb stockies that were put in the penns this week. if nothing else works maybe its time to start stripping streamers or nymphing midges.
