You're not kidding about the large eye on that one. What was the reason for the large eye on a hook of this size? The kind of knot used perhaps? I have some hooks for dries that have large eyes but they're 20 and smaller. Nice tie.

Not sure Jack, mustad made a lot of hooks in the day and this style is one of them. Nice to tie a small loop knot on for lots of movement though

How do you like the software seen in you photo. Seems to be reasonably priced. Would you say it is worth the investment?

It's been my favorite for years. I have 3 or 4 different softwares for patterns and this one I use the most. I have over 3,000 patterns on it.

Very nice. Just out of curiosity - whats the difference between that and a partridge-and-purple?

not much except this is bigger on a sz. 9 hook. also its a European fly.
