Saturday began with a float on the main. High hopes of finding some fish willing to take nymphs or sipping on the shady banks. The temps were good all the way to Callicoon but the river had color all the way past Lordville.
As the light faded, the numbers of insects increased....including some nice caddis hatches. Stayed on the rivers late as usual.
Since the WB was up and off color, we pulled a few streamer floats. Jim (stimey) had the only fish in my boat for 3 days of streamer fishing. I can't remember every posting a goose egg for 3 days worth of meat chucking up there. We had chases, stung a few and had others pull off shortly into the fight. Alby, Don and Bruno had much more success.
We saw swimming deer, tons of eagles, ospreys, a goose with a hair lip and a crazy thick ISO hatch.
In all, it was a good trip with some really good guys. We caught fish but not in the numbers I had hoped for. I think I had 4 bows in 2 days. All were 17.5 -19....except for one. Thought that was pretty sweet to have such a high average on them. Got one decent brown, a few dinks and some quality chubs.
