Anybody ever fished the tributary Stewarts [Stuarts?] Run which flows into the Octararo just above the Puseyville Bridge. Is there a trail alongside the stream?
 
There is a trail alongside the stream from the county park parking lot; goes for upstream for half a mile or so. I have not fished it for some time; probably about ten years ago, there were stocked fish all through the section prior to opening day. Now, I think, the largest quantity of fish is near bridges and road access. I believe I remember reading about one or more school classes putting brook trout fry in the stream as a project, and there might have been a population of natives there to begin with.
 
Fished it today. It's loaded with Fall Fish. Very pretty trail and one guge pool under a overhanging huge rock formation.

So, is there a town called Puseyville there?
 
do you pronounce it the way i think you do... like the first part of "*****"CAT


For being a very religious state we really do have some very "provocative" names of towns.
 
Bird-In-Hand is one of my favorite placenames. I wish there was a Two-In-Bush.

It clearly states there are brookies and browns in this water. Since you seem to know the area quite well I have another question. After the downstream wire at the end of the meadows on the Octorara you can see over to Wesley Road. I drove over there Sunday and a gravel road comes into Wesley from the creek. I didn't see a mail box so I drove over the gravel road that took me to an uncovered wooden bridge over the Octorara. There was a weathered jockey statute by the bridge. Is this a private drive way. I saw lots of trout and 2 huge carp under the wooden bridge.

PS for the rest of you gutter brains it is phonetically pronounced "Poohseyville" bridge. Like in Whinny the Pooh.
 
Sorry, but I think most of us are just trying to keep the post near the top of the forum. What was "the focus" again?
 
My focus was to see if there were brookies and browns in this trib to the Octo like it's stated in the County website.

PS the Puseyville bridge is on Puseyville Road that takes you to the land of Puseyville.
 
And what do you call the people who live there?

i live maybe 2-3mins away from stewarts run. ive heard from several people there are natives there, but im starting to think they heard it from somone else and so on. im sure you saw the signs posted there stating there are native brook trout in the stream. ive fished it once a year for like 3-4 years and never caught a native. lots of fall fish tho like you posted.
