For those of you who fish saltwater, I came across a good deal on a Thomas and Thomas 9' 10wt. Reg $600 on sale for $179.

All I saw was blanks on sale...no Thomas & Thomas rods.
 
They're gone now. Must have sold out quickly...
 
I usually use the casting rod as I find it much easier to detect light bites. I switch to the spinning rod when smaller fish like perch or croakers show up in the creeks. As far as rod brands go, mine are custom, but the most popular in my area for a price/quality value are Tica, St Croix and Diawa. I would suggest sticking with IM6 graphite for durability and sensitivity.
